ABC or multi-purpose extinguishers employ a specially fluidized and siliconised mono ammonium phosphate dry chemical. This chemical is designed to provide effective fire suppression by chemically insulating Class A fires, as it melts at around 350 degrees Fahrenheit and coats the applied surface. Moreover, it acts as a smothering agent and disrupts the chain reaction of Class B fires. Importantly, it does not conduct electricity back to the operator, ensuring added safety during operation.
